We’re proud to introduce Daniel Matchett, the former Reform UK Parliamentary Candidate in the 2024 General Election and Chairman of Reform UK Rossendale and Darwen, who is now standing to represent Whitworth and Bacup in the Lancashire County Council Elections on May 1st, 2025.

Daniel is a passionate advocate for real change in our communities. His journey reflects the frustration many feel with the current political landscape:
"In my opinion, Labour is not the answer anymore. I used to vote Labour once (when it was more centre-left), then Conservative in 2019, but now I stand for Reform UK. My politics has never changed; it’s the parties that have changed."
Daniel’s commitment is rooted in common-sense principles that resonate with ordinary people—values like fairness, accountability, and putting the needs of local communities first. He’s not afraid to speak the truth and challenge the status quo:
"We are on the cusp of a revolution in politics. Be a part of it—vote for a party that stands for common-sense principles. That’s what Whitworth and Bacup want—so vote Reform UK. Believe me when I tell you this, there’s more of you than you think! You’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg. It’s time for something different! And there will be surprises!"

Daniel isn’t just about words—he’s focused on action. He’s determined to address the local issues that matter most to Whitworth and Bacup residents:
Tackling the Influx of Potholes that damage vehicles and endanger road users
Challenging the Rise in HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupancy) and their impact on local communities
Opposing the Scout Moor 2 Project, which threatens to affect the region’s natural landscape
Addressing Concerns About the Waste Disposal Site in the Centre of Bacup
"There is so much to do. Locally, there is so much to do. These are all issues that I plan to challenge—and will challenge—regardless of the election outcome. Unlike some of the current elected politicians who simply follow the party line and are lackadaisical in challenging anything, I will stand up and fight for what truly matters to our community."
Daniel Matchett is ready to stand up for Whitworth and Bacup. He’s ready to bring common-sense principles back to our communities and ensure a prosperous future for everyone.
Join Daniel. Be part of the change. Vote Reform UK.
