On Friday 2nd May 2025, Reform UK achieved a historic victory in the Lancashire County Council elections, with four Reform UK candidates elected in Rossendale. This significant result highlights the growing demand for real change in local politics.

The newly elected councillors from Reform UK in Rossendale are:

  • Daniel Matchett – Whitworth & Bacup

  • Joanna Ash – Rossendale South

  • Clive Balchin – Mid Rossendale

  • Mackenzie Ritson – Rossendale East

This victory sends a powerful message to local government that residents in Rossendale are ready for fresh, accountable leadership. It is clear that the people of Rossendale want leadership that prioritises their needs and focuses on delivering results, rather than the politics of the past. Reform UK’s success represents a new chapter in local governance, where the voices of the community will be heard more clearly than ever before.

Daniel Matchett, Chairman Of Reform UK Rossendale & Darwen and newly elected LCC Councillor for Whitworth says:

“Winning four seats in Rossendale is a fantastic result for Reform UK and a clear signal that people are tired of being ignored. Voters want common-sense politics, not more of the same. Now it’s time to drain the swamp, get rid of the waste, find the savings and get things done. We’re here to bring accountability, transparency, and a fresh start for local government.”

A Huge Thank You to the Community

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of the local community. From the volunteers who canvassed on the doorsteps, to those who helped with campaign materials, donations, and spreading the Reform UK message, every contribution has made a real impact. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who played a role in this victory.

What’s Next for Rossendale & Darwen and Beyond?

Looking forward, Reform UK is committed to building on this success and continuing to work hard for the people of Rossendale & Darwen. While the victory is a significant milestone, it is only the beginning.
